FAQS Do I need a high speed internet connection? Yes, the Smart Media Player requires a constant connection to the internet. DSL, Cable, or any other form of high speed is fine. If you are currently using dialup you will need to upgrade to a high speed connection. How much bandwidth will the service require? Very little, the SMP pulls a CD quality 128kb/s stream from our server and has a built in buffer to insure that it will not skip when the internet connection is being heavily used. For most high speed internet connections it is only using between 5-10% at any given time. What other equipment besides the Smart Media Player will I need? You will need to have an amplifier and speakers. Preferably you will need your amplifier within six feet of your router or switch. We can provide you with a longer Cat5 cable if needed.If you do not have speakers or an amplifier already installed we can help you find a qualified installer in your area. How long does the Smart Media Player take to install? Most of our customers are up and running in under 10 minutes! What is In-Store Advertising or Point of Sale Advertising? In-Store Advertising or POS Advertising is used to target the customers already in your store. Usually a 20 second ad plays after every two songs or roughly every 6-7 minutes. It's a great way to brand yourself and your products and services and create customer loyalty. What do I have to do to get In-Store Advertising? With Ad Messenger it's easy! We consult with you to customize your messages that aim to your target customers. We will then write and record your ads and insert them into your music.
